The Event

4-game guarantee. Pool play. Open format. 24 teams (max). Raffle, Silent Auction, and Dinner on Saturday night. Double Balloon Take-Out Challenge during round robin. Warmroom Bingo.

First draw: Friday, May 26th 3:00 pm**
Final draw: Sunday, May 28th 2:00 pm**
Award Ceremony: Sunday, May 28th 4:30 pm

DOUBLE TAKE-OUT BALLOON CHALLENGE

Teams will compete to be the last team holding the double take-out balloon at the end of each round robin draw by removing two opposition stones in the house out of the playing field during their game. The winning team will receive either a $25 gift card to Stanley’s or a wingspan of raffle tickets ($25 value)!

We’re giving participants and/or any interested community members a chance to contribute towards this game within the game by becoming a draw sponsor. Sponsors will be acknowledged in the program and receive a shout-out at the beginning of their sponsored draw! (Note: In the event that no double take-outs are made in a draw or prizes are unclaimed, the value becomes a donation to SVCC.)

OPENING CEREMONY

Please join us on Friday evening at approximately 7:50 pm as we officially welcome all participants to our bonspiel and give thanks to our sponsors. Curlers will be “piped” onto the ice by celloist and SVCC member, Rohan Sikdar. It is also our great pleasure to have Katie Feldman, Wine Country Curling Club President and SVB participant, as our ceremonial first rock thrower. She will be accompanied by last year’s first-rock thrower, Jay Diamond, and SVB co-chairs Jennifer Asis and Sydney Jorgensen. SVCC President, Jeremy Malerich, will MC the ceremony.

SATURDAY NIGHT BANQUET DINNER

Join us on Saturday night for a buffet style Mediterranean-themed dinner. Note: all teams will receive 4 tickets for dinner. Additional dinner tickets will be available at the registration table for $25.

WARMROOM BINGO

Participants and spectators alike can win raffle tickets by getting a BINGO watching the games on the ice. Just grab a bingo board at the registration table located in Stanely’s Sports Bar and mark out the board as you see various actions take place on the ice. No purchase necessary. Winners will receive raffle tickets based on how many lines you complete on your board!

TRAVOLTA CUP

A time-honored California bonspiel tradition, curlers already eliminated from competition will be chosen via lottery then formed into teams to compete for the Travolta Cup during the final draw on Sunday, May 28, at 2 pm. Regular curling rules apply.
