Embrace Your Unique Curling Journey
We understand that everyone’s curling journey is unique, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to becoming a skilled and confident curler. You might find yourself ready to join a league right after completing a Learn to Curl session, while others may prefer to gain more experience through a Learn to Curl Level 2 or other activities before taking the plunge. Rest assured, there’s no “right way” to become a curler.
GET STARTED
Join a Learn to Curl session to begin your adventure in the exciting world of curling.
Our friendly instructors will teach you the basics of the sport and help you play your first game.
2
BUILD COMFORT & CONFIDENCE
(optional)
Our programming is designed to help you make the most of your time with us on and off the ice. There’s something for everyone: from Learn to Curl 2 to Social Curling Games and even off-ice social events.
3
PLAY REGULARLY
The key to improvement in curling is regular play.
Our leagues welcome players of all levels, fostering an inclusive environment for everyone. Look for League Registration Windows on the calendar below and start playing regularly.
GETTING STARTED
LEARN TO CURL: Learn, Play, and Socialize
Never curled before? Sign up for one of our Learn to Curl events! This two-hour session will teach you how to slide, throw, and sweep and get you playing your first game. Check out our Learn to Curl page for more information and upcoming schedule.
BUILD SKILLS & CONFIDENCE
LEARN TO CURL LEVEL 2:
Building Confidence on the Ice
Our Learn to Curl Level 2 program is a stepping stone between your first time on the ice and joining a league. This second-step class builds on the basics taught in our initial Learn to Curl program, with additional instruction and practice, for a smooth transition into league play.
SOCIAL/DROP-IN CURLING GAMES:
Casual Fun for Everyone
Looking for a casual, one-time curling experience? Our Social / Drop-in Curling events are perfect for all skill levels. Register for an event, and we’ll create teams on the spot. It’s a fantastic way to meet fellow curlers, have fun on the ice, and gain valuable experience in a relaxed setting. You’ll get the feel of a league game without the commitment.
SOCIAL EVENTS – WATCH PARTIES & TRIVIA: Connect off the Ice
Join our Watch Parties or Trivia Nights, where you can mingle with club members, learn more about the sport, and immerse yourself in our curling community. These off-ice social events are a great opportunity to make new friends, share your passion for curling, and feel a sense of belonging within our club.
PRACTICE ICE: Improve Through Repetition
Hone your skills with the support of our experienced curlers during Guided Practice sessions or – once you are comfortable on the ice – Unguided Practice. These opportunities allow you to get more slides and sweeping in to work on whatever you want to improve.
Availability varies based on other activities.
OTHER DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES:
Continue Your Growth
We occasionally offer additional development activities for specific curling skills. From lesson series to one-off clinics, these events cover various aspects of the sport, such as sweeping techniques, delivery improvements, advanced strategy, and more. Stay tuned for upcoming opportunities and elevate your game to new heights.
Infrequent availability.
PLAYING AS A SPARE: Join a single game to help a short-handed team
When a league team is missing a player for one game, they can reach out to the “spare list”, a group of non-league players who are available to substitute on a one-off basis. Those who have completed a Learn to Curl are welcome to join a league game as a spare! Throw more rocks, get more game experience, and save someone from sweeping alone.

LEAGUE REGISTRATION: Join Our Welcoming & Supportive Community
Ready to take the plunge and join one of our weekly leagues? The best way to develop as a curler is to play regularly. SVCC leagues are part of all players’ continuous development, the center of our community, and friendly competition. Everyone was a rookie league player at some point, so our league coordinators team up new curlers with more experienced players to show you the ropes. Members of all experience levels are welcome to join any of our seasonal leagues.
