DESCRIPTION:Seen curling in the Olympics? Does it look like a blast? Ever wanted to try it? If you answered “Yes!” to any of these questions\, come to a Learn to Curl session and get swept up in curling! \nThis two-hour session is designed for complete beginners—no experience required. You’ll get on the ice\, learn the fundamentals\, and play your first game. \nWe’ll cover safety\, the basics of the game\, and teach you how to deliver stones (including stick delivery options if lunging isn’t for you)\, sweep\, and understand scoring and gameplay. \nBy the end of your first Learn to Curl\, you’ll have the core skills needed to join our leagues\, return for development sessions\, or jump into other curling events. This isn’t just a one-time experience—it’s your starting point in the sport. \nCost: $50/person \nWhat should I wear?\nSneakers (for your safety\, people wearing inadequate footwear such as sandals\, boots\, or heels will not be allowed to participate)\, athletic pants (jeans are discouraged since you’ll need to be able to lunge)\, and warm clothes (hats\, gloves). Layers are recommended—you’ll be on ice\, but many people warm up quickly once we get moving. \nWhat exactly will this session involve?\nLearning\, Playing\, and Socializing are the core of curling—and of this session. \nWe’ll teach you delivery (sliding or stick)\, release\, sweeping\, scoring\, boundaries\, and a few simple rules—along with how sportsmanship and game etiquette make curling unique.\nYou’ll then play your first game during the session\, focused on fun and giving you the chance to try everything. It may not look exactly like an Olympic match—but you’ll be a curler nonetheless. \nBroomstacking (the social side of curling)\nAfter your time on the ice\, we invite you to join us upstairs at Stanley’s for post-game beverages and conversation with other curlers. This tradition—called broomstacking—is a core part of curling culture and one of the best ways to meet people\, improve through discussion\, and become part of the community. \nI’m purchasing tickets for multiple people and don’t know their email addresses\, or I’m purchasing for a minor that doesn’t have an email address—what do I enter?\nAs much as possible\, we ask that you enter accurate email addresses for all attendees.
