Learn to Curl (San Jose) 2022-02-01
February 1, 2022 @ 9:25 pm - 11:30 pm
$40.00
Proof of vaccination required. Details below.
Have you seen curling in the Olympics? Does it look like a blast? Have you wanted to try it? If you answered “Yes!” to any of these questions, come to a Learn to Curl session and get swept up in curling!
The two-hour session includes a safety talk, an overview of the game, learning how to deliver the stones, learning how to sweep, and playing a mini-game (as time allows).
Cost: $40/person
What you should wear: Sneakers (for your safety, people wearing inadequate footwear such as sandals, boots, or heels will not be allowed to participate), athletic pants (jeans are discouraged since you’ll need to be able to lunge), and warm clothes (hats, gloves). Layers are recommended. You’ll be on ice, so it’s cold. But many people warm up after sweeping a few stones.
Vaccination Requirement
All participants must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination prior to entering the facility. Our host facility, Solar4America Ice at San Jose has full details, including instructions for setting up a CLEAR Health Pass on their website at https://www.solar4americaiceatsanjose.com/covid/vaccination-policy
I’m purchasing tickets for multiple people and don’t know their email addresses, or I’m purchasing for a minor that doesn’t have an email address, what do I enter?
As much as possible we ask that you enter accurate email addresses for the planned attendees. If you’re trying to purchase quickly, or in the case of minors, you can use an existing email address and add a ‘+’ sign and a unique word or name after the first part of the email address before the ‘@’ sign to create a unique address that will arrive to your existing account.
Example: name@gmail.com would become name+secondname@gmail.com and name+thirdname@gmail.com, etc…
When purchasing tickets why am I required to enter unique emails for each participant? Will this be used for spam or marketing?
We use digital waivers to ensure that everyone is ready to go onto the ice – to complete those waivers we need to send them to each participant for them to sign.
We also want to ensure that everyone participating receives clear instructions on what to wear, where to go, and what to expect. Each participant will usually receive 4 total emails:
– a ticket email as soon as you complete your purchase
– Your Upcoming Learn to Curl, which will typically arrive anytime in the week prior to the event and explain how to be prepared for the event.
– The digital waiver from DocuSign, which arrives shortly after Your Upcoming Learn to Curl
– Next Steps in Curling, which arrives in the week following the event which describes the club, how to join the spare player list, a league, or as a member, and a link to a survey about how we did.
